Michael Keaton In Talks To Play Batman Again In The Flash Solo-Film
Batman Returns…again?
Though Ben Affleck has stepped down and Robert Pattinson is next in line to don the cape and cowl, Warner Bros. are looking to mix things up.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Keaton is in early negotiations to return as his Batman from Tim Burton’s films. However, it would not be for a solo outing; Ezra Miller’s solo Flash film will reportedly integrate the role. The film is to introduce elements of the ‘Flashpoint’ storyline, featuring Barry Allen travelling into the past to save his mother from being murdered, creating an alternate universe. Clearly a perfect way to introduce a new Batman (or one we already know) to the to DC’s cinematic universe.

Keaton’s involvement will also apparently mean his aged Bruce Wayne appearing in multiple films, featuring in a mentor role. With a Batgirl film still in development, it is possible this is where Keaton could find himself mainly.
Warner Bros. are still viewing Matt Reeves’ The Batman film series as the future of the character in light of Keaton’s apparent return. Meaning Robert Pattinson is still our main Batman for now, folks.
Keaton’s Bruce Wayne appeared as the first cinematic and comic-accurate interpretation, appearing in 1989’s Batman and 1992’s Batman Returns. He then quit after director Tim Burton’s departure, allowing Val Kilmer to take over in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever.

The untitled-Flash movie is said to start filming in London in Spring 2021. The Batman, however, was recently given the go ahead to commence filming Due to the Coronavirus pandemic easing in the UK.
3 June 2022 is when Ezra Miller’s Flash movie will hit cinemas, with 1 October 2021 set as the release date for The Batman.
