Christian Bale May Play Batman In The Flash Too

As if the announcement of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s involvement in The Flash movie wasn’t enough, the extension of Batman actors involved may be getting bigger. Christian Bale, who played the caped crusader for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, has been tipped to maybe return to the role alongside Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen/Flash. Although, there is apparently a condition.

According to our intel, Bale will only show up in The Flash if he gets the seal of approval from Christopher Nolan, which is a huge showing of the mutual respect between the former collaborators.

The site is also confident of its sources. The source broke the news of Ben Affleck returning as Batman for this film a month before it was confirmed.

If Bale is asked and the Tenet director gives him the nod, it would mean returning to the role for the first time in eight years. The Vice actor bowed out of his time as Bruce Wayne back in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. The film also starred the likes of Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

Michael Keaton is already lined up to return as Batman, a part he has not played since 1992’s Batman Returns. Also lined up for the dark knight is Ben Affleck, who was believed to have given up his time as the hero after stepping away from starring in and directing 2021’s The Batman. The reboot is now being directed by Cloverfield‘s Matt Reeves and stars The Lighthouse‘s Robert Pattinson in the title role.

The Flash, to be directed by It‘s Andy Muschietti, will touch on the famous Flashpoint storyline. The plot traditionally revolves around Barry Allen creating another reality after preventing the death of his mother. With how many Batman actors we’re supposedly getting back, it would make sense that the story will see Barry continuously travelling back in time. This may show a different timeline each time, featuring alternate versions of the caped crusader. Filming is expected to begin in March 2021, though it will depend on how Covid-19 effects the production schedule.

The Flash is set to be released 3 June 2022, with The Batman recently returning to filming with a release date set for 1 October 2021. The Dark Knight Trilogy is also available to purchase now.
