Get ready for The Umbrella Academy vs. The Sparrow Academy

Looks like the Hargreeves siblings have a few more troubles to run into – Netflix have officially announced that Season 3 is happening for The Umbrella Academy.

The announcement via Twitter can be seen below:

With the news of a third outing for the academy, we can assume that all main cast members will be returning. That includes Ellen Page as Vanya/Number Seven, Tom Hopper as Luther/Number One, Robert Sheehan as Klaus/Number Five, David Castañeda as Diego/Number Two, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison/Number Three, Justin H. Min as Ben/Number Six and Aidan Gallagher as Number Five.

With how Season 2 ended, we should also expect Colm Feore to return as the cold hearted, adoptive father of the academy, Sir Reginald Hargreeves.

The final moments had the academy returning to the present after their stint in the 60s, to find everything not as it is. It turns out they have changed history, causing Reginald to raise seven other powered youngsters, deemed as The Sparrow Academy. The biggest shock? Ben Hargreeves is now alive, still in Reginald’s care and seems a little sinister compared the version we know.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 does not yet have an air date on Netflix, but production is set to begin in February. With the current circumstances around COVID-19, it is safe to imagine the show will return in early 2022.
