Donald Glover & Phoebe Waller-Bridge Fronting Mr & Mrs Smith Series
It is expected to air in 2022
The age of hit films turning into TV shows is stronger than ever, and here’s the next string to that bow! Community‘s Donald Glover and Fleabag‘s Phoebe Waller-Bridge are to front a TV revamp of noughties classic, Mr & Mrs Smith.
The original film starred Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The pair feature as a married couple who discover that each other are assassins. What’s worse is they’ve been hired to kill each other! The film received mixed reviews from critics and also was the starting point of the “Brangelina” relationship.
Glover and Waller-Bridge are to also executive produce the show, which will head to Amazon Prime and is expected to air sometime next year.

Star Wars fans will recognise that this pairing has already existed thanks to Solo: A Star Wars Story. This film saw Glover fill the role of a young Lando Calrissian whereas Waller-Bridge played L-3, Calrissian’s independent-minded, feisty robot companion.
It is also expected that Glover will reprise the role in the recently announced Lando show which will stream on Disney+.
