Jaime Murray revealed to be playing classic comic book villain in Gotham season five
Did you see this coming?
With Gotham season five nearing it’s end, the show is beginning to cause quite the hype! The final three episodes kicked off with episode 10, entitled “I am Bane”. The episode was built up to finally show Eduardo Dorrance as the villainous Bane, portrayed by Salem‘s Shane West. But was he really the big bad of the episode?
Drawing inspiration from The Dark Knight Rises, the episode delivered a twist that revealed not Dorrance as the ultimate villain, but a daughter of Ra’s Al Ghul who has a grudge against Bruce Wayne, played by Jaime Murray. The Once Upon a Time actress was brought into the show under the guise of Theresa Walker, until it was revealed in the most recent episode that she is in fact Nyssa Al Ghul – a character who is also portrayed in the Arrowverse by Katrina Law.

Much like the Al Ghul daughter we meet in Christopher Nolan’s third Batman movie, she seeks to destroy Gotham, both as revenge for her father’s death and due to Gotham’s cataclismic state.
What can we expect from Nyssa in the next episode before Gotham’s grand finale set 10 years in the future? Could a teenage Bruce finally rise up? Could the villainess team up with a yet-to-be-seen-again Jeremiah Veleska?
Gotham season five continues April 14 with episode 11 entitled “They Did What?” on Fox in the UK. The show’s fifth season is due to air on E4 in the US.
