Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Second Trailer has Landed
“You can’t escape him!”
A second, official trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi landed as a nice treat on Wednesday (May 4th – of course). You can watch the new look for the much anticipated show below:
The trailer gives us a lot of what we got in the first trailer i.e. Kenobi is living in solitude and Inquisitors are on the hunt for him. However, we do get a few new tidbits that fans will be curious about. One particular moment shows Obi-Wan talking to Joel Edgerton’s Owen Lars about young Luke Skywalker’s future.
“When the time comes, he must be trained,” insists the Jedi Master.
“Like you trained his father?” stabs back Lars. Ouch. We ourselves suggested a harsh attitude towards Kenobi from Uncle Owen could be a way to go in the series, and it look like we were onto something.
We also get a quick first look at Kumail Nanjiani in the series. From the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment we can’t make out much, but after his turn as a superhero in Eternals, could he be a fellow Jedi in hiding?

Moses Ingram’s Reva also appears to be hot on the tail of the title character as she speaks to him directly, warning that he can’t escape “him”. This may be referring to Rupert Friend’s Grand Inquisitor, but the trailer, and our minds, shoots to who we see getting put together in the next few seconds of the trailer.
And with that familiar, terrifying breathing, we get yet another hint to the rematch between Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader and his former master. With the hype being built for when these two lay eyes on each other again, let’s hope it’s as big as we’re hoping it is.
Obi-Wan Kenobi hits Disney+ with it’s first two episodes on May 27.
