The Last Of Us HBO Series Casts It’s Leads
Looks like The Mandalorian has a new sidekick
HBO’s take on the hit Sony Playstation game series, The Last of Us, have found their pair of main actors in two Game of Thrones alumni.
It has been revealed that The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal and Judy’s Bella Ramsey will step into the roles of Joel and Ellie for the series adaptation of the story.
The general story of the game, developed by Naughty Dog, follows Joel – a hardened and traumatised survivor of a pandemic 20 years earlier – as he smuggles 14-year old Ellie – the last hope for humanity – out of a quarantine zone and across a baron America. As the two depend on each other for survival, fans of the game series will know there is a lot of suspense and heartbreak as the story unfold. It is expected the show will follow the game’s narrative very closely.

This takes Pascal full circle after his big break in HBO’s Game of Thrones, in which he portrayed Oberyn Martell. Since then, Pascal has gone on to feature in the likes of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Netflix’s Narcos, Wonder Woman 1984 and of course Disney+’s The Mandalorian as the title character.
Ramsey has also gone on to grasp a successful career since her scene-stealing part in Game of Thrones; the 17-year old has gone on to star in the likes of Holmes & Watson alongside Will Ferrell and Judy alongside an Oscar-winning Renée Zellweger.

The TV adaptation of The Last of Us is being brought to us by Chernobyl creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The pilot episode is to be directed by Beanpole‘s Kantemir Balagov.
The Last of Us currently does not have a release date.
