Mark Hamill cast as Chucky in Child’s Play reboot
Well he’s moved on from Star Wars quickly…
With one of the creepiest films getting the reboot treatment, it just needs a creepy voice to complete it, and they filmmakers have made a great choice. Mark Hamill has officially been cast as the knife-wielding doll Chucky in the Child’s Play reboot.
Announcing the news on social media, the Return of the Jedi actor seemed as excited as anyone about getting to share it with everyone…
“Hello Wondercon, it’s Mark Hamill here, and if you’re wondering whose going to voice Chucky in the new Child’s Play…you’re looking at him!”
Hamill continued: “I can’t wait to bring such an iconic character to life, and present him in a way you’ve never seen him before! Child’s Play this Summer, we’re gonna have some fun!”

Hamill found voice acting fame in the 90s – playing one of the most iconic versions of DC’s Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, Hobgoblin in Spider-Man and various characters over other cartoon shows. After those voice roles, is it any wonder he has been chosen for the Child’s Play reboot?
The film is set to also star Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates‘ Aubrey Plaza, Atlanta‘s Brian Tyree Henry and The West Wing’s Tim Matheson.
Directing duties are filled by Polaroid‘s Lars Klevberg, with It and It: Chapter Two‘s Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg serving as producers. The film also has Quantum Break‘s Tyler Burton Smith writing the screenplay.
The film’s official premise reads: “The story follows a mother named Karen who gives her son Andy a toy doll, Chucky, though both aren’t aware of its evil nature.”
Child’s Play is set to attack US cinemas on June 21, with a UK release date still to be confirmed.

Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
