Pierce Brosnan To Star As Dr Fate In Black Adam
Nelson…Kent Nelson
Black Adam has attached a big name to play a well known DC character. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that James Bond legend Pierce Brosnan will play hero Dr. Fate in the Jaume Collet-Serra directed film.
With there being various versions of Fate existing in the comics, thankfully this source uncovered more on Brosnan’s version of the character:
“Brosnan will play Kent Nelson, aka the good Dr. Fate, a son of an archeologist who was taught sorcery skills and given the magical Helmet of Fate. The character, created by Gardner Fox and Howard Sherman, is one of DC’s oldest characters, having first appeared in 1940’s More Fun Comics #5.”

Aside from starring in hits such as Mrs Doubtfire and Mamma Mia!, Brosnan is best known for his tenure as James Bond. The Irish actor portrayed 007 from 1995’s Goldeneye until 2002’s Die Another Day. From there, Daniel Craig took up the role with 2006’s Casino Royale.
Brosnan’s Fate will be joining Dwayne Johnson’s title character plus Atom Smasher played by Noah Centineo, Hawkman played by Aldis Hodge and Cyclone played by Quintessa Swindell, respectively.
With the film now in production, we could hopefully get our first looks at these characters soon!
Black Adam is set to hit cinemas July 29, 2022.
