The Matrix 4’s Title Confirmed
Neo and Trinity are back to dodge more bullets
Its been a long wait, but we finally have confirmation of The Matrix 4‘s title. It is indeed…The Matrix: Resurrections, as rumoured previously. The title was confirmed alongside the first official footage of the film at CinemaCon on Tuesday (August 24).
The footage was only shown to those present at CinemaCon however we do have nuggets of information. Aside from the usual action shots you would expect from a Matrix film, the footage shown Keanu Reeves’ Thomas Anderson in therapy. He apparently has no memory of his time as Neo. We also see Anderson and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity meeting at a coffee shop, appearing to not know each other.

Fans will remember both Neo and Trinity perishing during the events of Matrix: Revolutions, so the big question is: how and why have they been brought back into the simulation?
This fourth instalment sees a number of other Matrix alumni returning. This includes Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson.

The cast is also loaded with franchise newcomers, including Aquaman‘s Yahyu Abdu-Mateen II, Gone Girl‘s Neil Patrick Harris, Mindhunter‘s Jonathan Groff and Iron Fist‘s Jessica Henwick.
The Matrix: Resurrections is scheduled to hit cinemas December 22.
