Ex ‘Love Island’ presenter Caroline Flack found dead aged 40

The star was due in court next month for physical abuse charges.

Former host of ITV2’s Love Island has been confirmed to have passed away yesterday (February 15) in her London apartment. A lawyer for the family confirmed that the Strictly Come Dancing winner took her own life.

The star’s family said in a statement: “We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, the 15th of February.

The statement continues: “We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us.”

Flack was due in court next month for reportedly assaulting her partner in December. Since the allegations, the 40 year old was met with horrific trolling on social media plus harsh treatment from the press.

Since hearing the news, many stars and former Love Island contestants have took to the internet to post tributes to the young presenter, including Love Island star Chris Hughes, friend and former co-host Olly Murs and current Love Island host Laure Whitmore.

Yesterday’s instalment of Love Island: Unseen Bits was pulled from scheduling in tribute of Flack’s passing.
