Our BIGGEST Predictions For Spider-Man: No Way Home

Our BIGGEST Predictions For Spider-Man No Way Home | ScreenHeads

What could we be in for in the MCU’s third Spidey instalment?

We’re just under two months from the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The rumour mill is continuously turning. There’s supposedly leaked images and more and more information coming to light. What can we actually expect from the threequel?

Our team have come together to list the most likely predictions for the film – have a read below!

Previous Spider-Men WILL appear

So many “photoshopped” images. Confirmed appearances for villains from previous films. A lot of evidence to add up to an extra Parker popping up here and there. It seems more than likely that the Spiderverse is going live-action.

Though Garfield and Maguire have carefully answered all questions surrounding the subject, it does seem that the film is going to bring us previous incarnations of our favourite webhead. At this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if Marvel hadn’t planned it and had to pull something together to avoid backlash. This has been described as “Spider-Man: Endgame” so…can we expect an epic arrival from previous Spider-Men?

Happy Hogan will die

This is a character that has swiftly shifted from the side of one superhero to another. Happy Hogan has become a great mentor-type figure to Tom Holland’s webslinger. So it seems that he could fill a very specific role in this iteration. With the exclusion of Uncle Ben feeling too far gone to have any effect now, does it not make sense for Stark Industries’ Head of Security to take the responsibility of his presence?

With the first trailer for No Way Home featuring a worried-looking Happy and weaponry seemingly being aimed at him, is it possible he could bite the dust? No only would it be a blow to Aunt May, but it would cut young Parker to the core. We’ve seen from Far From Home that he could impart some words of wisdom on the teenager. So who’s to say he won’t deliver a play on the “With Great Power…” speech? A big change from comic lore but MCU is known for taking things in a direction that suits its own continuity.

Matt Murdock WON’T show up

Yes. Numerous sources have said Charlie Cox filmed a role and he’s been involved in reshoots, but this seems too good to be true. With the pretty much confirmed appearances of Maguire, Garfield and some of their previous villains…doesn’t it feel too much to re-introduce us to the Devil of Hells Kitchen too?

It would be great to see him as Peter’s lawyer after the events of Far From Home. It is a perfect opportunity to bring him into the fold. Having said that, haven’t Sony learned anything from trying to do too much with too many characters in a single film? We imagine he won’t show up, but even if he does it should only be in a small capacity.

Sandman will become an ally

Spider-Man 3 was filled with various threads to try and follow, one of which being Flint Marko’s origins as Sandman. The film established him as Ben Parker’s (accidental) killer and as a man desperate to provide for his sick child. Needless to say, by the end he has seemingly redeemed himself and made amends with Maguire’s Peter.

With Marko seemingly confirmed to return for No Way Home, does it make sense to have him go back to his villainous ways? With eagle eyed fans insisting the trailer shows Sandman protecting Peter, it could stand to reason that Marko is being forced to join Doc Ock and his sinister team. Either way, there needs to be a good reason as to why he’s gone to the dark side again.

Peter Parker will give up being Spider-Man

Not one that you’ll have seen on the internet prominently, but it does have potential. It has been confirmed that this film will round out Tom Holland’s Homecoming trilogy. His contract is also now up with Marvel Studios and Sony. Holland has even mentioned that he can’t discuss his future as Spider-Man because it could give away something for the upcoming instalment.

Is it possible this is because Holland doesn’t actually know when he’ll return? Because No Way Home‘s ending leaves everything up in the air as Parker gives up the Spider-Man identity? It would be a great contrast to the Peter we see in Homecoming. Plus, it would make sense with pretty much everyone Peter loves being in danger after his identity has been revealed. Wouldn’t you want to give it all up after narrowly escaping fate with the help of Doctor Strange’s spell?
