Disney to reboot the ‘Home Alone’ franchise, ‘Night at the Museum’ and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’
Is there anything the House of Mouse doesn’t own now?
The Walt Disney Company is really buying up land these days in the filmmaking world, and the ambitions of the company just don’t stop. Amongst heading the Marvel films and the Star Wars franchise through Lucasfilm, you will remember that earlier this year Disney also bought 21st Century Fox. Well, let’s just say X-Men and Deadpool movies aren’t they only thing they have plans for since the purchase.

Through their assets at Fox, Disney now plans to reboot the Home Alone franchise that was once made famous with a young Macauley Culkin as the main character.
This was all but confirmed on Disney’s Q3 Earnings Call (via ComicBook.com) this franchise – along with both the Night at the Museum and Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchises respectively – would be getting the reboot treatment for…yeah you guessed it…the upcoming Disney+ platform.

There is no word yet on what else Disney wish to reimagine, but we can be pretty sure at this point that the list is longer than what we have here.
Remember, there is the likes of the Avatar film series and the Kingsman franchise that are all confirmed to have a future…what will Disney be doing with it?
