Our Top 10 Episodes Of The US Office | ScreenHeads

The mockumentary ran for 201 episodes over 9 seasons

Although the original British series will always be the best, the American version of The Office became its own animal and conquered TV screens for nearly a decade.

Now we at ScreenHeads have compiled our favourite 10 episodes which you can take a look at below.

10. Niagara Part 2 (6×05)

“I bought those boat tickets the day I saw that YouTube video. I knew we’d need a back-up plan.”

In this episode we finally got to see Jim and Pam tie the not. With some hysterical moments, but also some that are warming and sweet, its an episode with a huge heart. I guarantee you’ll never listen to Forever by Chris Brown after watching that aisle scene.

9. The Dundies (2×01)

“I just want to say, that this was the best, Dundies, ever! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!”

The introduction to the famous Dundies, a time honoured tradition in which Michael Scott gives out made-up awards to his employees. We get Steve Carell’s Scott trying to be an Oscars host and of course we get a very drunken Pam which makes us smile the entire time she’s on screen.

8. Frame Toby (5×09)

“I tried, I tried. I tried to talk to Toby and be his friend but that is like trying to be friends with an evil… snail.”

One of the best things about this show is Michael’s utter loathing for Toby. Want to see that hatred at full throttle? This is the episode where Michael shows how far he’ll go to rid Dunder Mifflin of their harmless HR representative. It also birthed one of the internet’s favourite memes/gifs (see the above).

7. Finale (9×24)

“I sold paper at this company for 12 years. My job was to speak to clients on the phone about quantities and types of copier paper. Even if I didn’t love every minute of it, everything I have, I owe to this job. This stupid…wonderful…boring…amazing job.”

The finale of course wraps up every story for the employees of Dunder Mifflin. You’ll definitely shed a tear or two, you’ll see some familiar faces and be satisfied with how everyones story ends. A fitting final story for an amazing group of characters.

6. The Fight (2×06)

“Did I want to harm Michael? The one man I’ve been hired to protect? No, I did not.”

An episode that is a fine example for how over the top Michael Scott can be. Dwight gives his boss a gut punch which gives us one of the funniest moments from the show as Michael groans in pain and retreats to his office. From there, Mr Scott is ready to get pay back on Dwight, the Goju Ru Karate expert of Scranton.

We also get a expert prank from Jim who somehow places Dwight’s whole desk in the mens bathroom.

5. Stress Relief (5×14)

“Today, smoking is gonna save lives.”

This episode earned it’s place in this list thanks to the first 5 minutes alone. Dwight shows the importance of fire safety by literally starting a fire, and what unravels then will have you in hysterics. Dwight very much is the star of the episode and he surprises us with how unhinged he can be even 5 years into the show.

4. Goodbye, Michael (7×21)

“No he wasn’t sad. He was full of hope. About Colorado, and he was hoping to get an upgrade as an award’s member.”

After 7 years, Steven Carell stepped away from The Office, which meant we bid farewell to Michael Scott. Some of the saddest moments across the entire show and some really smart moves from the showrunners. This episode will make you miss Michael Scott more than you realised.

3. The Coup (3×03)

“Business is like a jungle. And I… am like a tiger. And Dwight, is like a monkey, that stabs the tiger in the back with a stick. Does the tiger fire the monkey? Does the tiger transfer the monkey to another branch? Pun. There is no way of knowing what goes on inside the tiger’s head. We don’t have the technology.”

Michael and Dwight’s friendship is put to the test when the latter goes behind the other’s back and tries to steal his job. When Michael finds out? He plays some over the top mind games with his assistant to the regional manager…as expected. Want to see under the bonnet of Michael and Dwight’s relationship? This is the episode.

2. Dinner Party (4×13)

“When I said that I wanted to have kids, and you said, you wanted me to have a vasectomy, what did I do? And then when you said that you might want to have kids and I wasn’t so sure, Who had the vasectomy reversed? And then when you said you defintely didn’t want to have kids, who had it reversed back? Snip snap! Snip snap! Snip snap!”

The most uncomfortable dinner party and who are the hosts? Bickering couple Michael and Jan. From start to finish this episode has you cringing and wanting the night to be over for everyone. Between Jan’s strange dancing and Michael’s plasma TV, there is no level of normality throughout. You won’t be disappointed as you watch Michael and Jan’s relationship crumble in front of your eyes.

1. The Injury (2×12)

“I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon, sue me.”

The top spot has to go to this episode. Michael hilariously injures himself through his breakfast ritual. From his phone call to Pam imploring for help, to Dwight’s concussion, to all of the running round done for Michael, this outing doesn’t stop in making you laugh. This is one to watch over and over.
