New Trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home Released

New Trailer for Spider-Man No Way Home Released | ScreenHeads

“They’re starting to come through…and I can’t stop them.”

A second trailer for the much anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home has been released at long last. You can watch the trailer below:

Sony Pictures Entertainment/Marvel

The trailer gives a lot more in terms of plot, finally showing us full looks at Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx’s Electro and presumably Rhys Ifans and Thomas Haden Church’s Lizard and Sandman respectively.

It appears that the main bulk of the story will centre on Parker and his friends rounding up Spidey villains from other universes before its too late. However, it seems as though Peter is going to lock horns with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor strange in how they will be disposed of.

There is still no confirmation of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield showing up, however it seems pretty much signed, sealed and delivered that they’re going to appear whether they admit it or not.

The trailer does also offer some interesting moments for fans to keep in mind though:

  • Doc Ock’s tentacles seem to absorb Spidey’s nano-tech suit to give themselves a new look. Looks like even evil mechanical arms can have themselves a makeover if they wish.
  • The Statue of Liberty seems do be holding Captain America’s shield instead of a torch. Nice world building, if you ask me.
  • JK Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson seems to be present when Jamie Foxx’s Electro lands in the MCU. Could he be getting more than a cameo this time round?
  • Peter dives to stop a Goblin bomb in what appears to be his Aunt May’s apartment. Could Aunt May go the way of Uncle Ben?
  • A quick shot of Green Goblin throwing bombs as he flies to camera seems to show him without a mask. This could be Dafoe without his helmet…or could it be Ned Leeds from another universe as Hobgoblin? We know the actor has been campaigning for the character’s transformation and actor Jacob Batalon lost weight for this film. Something is afoot.
  • “This is all my fault. I can’t save everyone”. Looks like Holland’s Spidey will give in and accept that he needs to kill these multiversal villains in the end…maybe until two other webslingers talk some sense into him?
  • The fighting on the scaffolding set against Electro, Sandman and Lizard lines up with recent leaked images of our three Spider-Men. Looks like we’re getting our live-action Spider-verse (?).
  • Following on from that last point, the shot of Spider vs. Electro, Sandman and Lizard? Three on one though they’re lined up as if its three on three, plus Lizard actually appears to be hit by something invisible. Spider-verse Spider-verse Spider-verse Spider-verse.
  • MJ’s fall gives a wink to Kirsten Dunst’s various dramatic falls throughout the original Spider-Man trilogy. Also, it nods to Gwen Stacey’s death in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Maybe Holland doesn’t catch her but Garfield swings in at the last minute to redeem his failure?
