Tom Hardy Rumoured To Be Next James Bond
Hardy, Tom Hardy
Since Daniel Craig’s announcement that he’ll be giving up his double-O status, fans have wondered who will be his replacement. Names such as Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba have been thrown around, including one other which may actually come through.
The Vulcan Reporter claims that Venom‘s Tom Hardy has been offered the role after a successful audition in June. Its reported that Hardy’s casting was to be revealed in November after the original April release of Craig’s final outing. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the official announcement is believed to be coming later this year or in 2021.

Bookmakers have now even begun cracking down the odds on Hardy being cast, with some actually suspending betting.
As mentioned above, Hardy would be taking over the role from Daniel Craig. Craig is currently the longest serving Bond, his first film hitting cinemas in 2006 with Martin Campbell’s Casino Royale. It was rumoured that Craig would be leaving the role after 2015’s Spectre due to comments during press for the film, however he signed on for one more film to tie up his Bond’s story arc.

No Time To Die, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, brings back regulars such as Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner and Léa Seydoux as Bond’s love interest Madeleine Swann. It will also see the return of Spectre‘s villain in the form of Christoph Waltz’s Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Newcomers include Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Rami Malek as as villain Safin, Captain Marvel‘s Lashana Lynch as double-O agent Nomi and Knives Out‘s Ana de Armas as CIA agent Paloma.
The film was originally set to be directed by Steve Jobs‘ Danny Boyle, who exited the project due to creative differences, paving the way for Fukunaga to take over.
It is currently unknown how the story will play out for Bond once Craig is replaced. Although, it is expected that the film series will have a soft reboot.

No Time To Die hits cinemas UK cinemas 12 November and US cinemas 20 November.
