Looks like Hollywood star Gal Gadot is set to take on yet another iconic role. The Israeli actress is set to star as the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The story is expected to follow the same tale as the 1937 animated version. This follows young princess Snow White as she evades the capture of her evil step mother, the Evil Queen, and finds refuge with seven dwarfs.

The project is beginning to pick up more pace now that the villain has been cast. We already have our Snow White in the shape of Rachel Zegler. The young actress has recently risen to fame after being cast alongside Baby Driver‘s Ansel Elgort in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story remake. She will also appear in Shazam: Fury of The Gods. Currently, roles such as The Huntsman and the titular Seven Dwarfs are yet to be cast.

We also have The Amazing Spider-Man‘s Marc Webb in the director’s chair with The Girl on the Train’s Erin Cressida Wilson writing the script. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are set to write new songs for the film. The pair were also on musical duties for Disney’s live-action Aladdin back in 2019.

Gadot is no stranger to iconic roles nowadays. She has famously played Wonder Woman in the superhero’s solo outings and also in team up films such as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. A third solo outing is expected to be up and running soon, with Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins reportedly working on a script as we speak.
