Sophie Turner talks spilling Game of Thrones spoilers to those closest to her

She’s lucky she hasn’t been sent over the wall, right?

It isn’t easy when you’re a part of one of the biggest tv shows in the world and have to keep it zipped for years on end…and doesn’t Sophie Turner know it! The actress has faced an army of hungry fans wanting Game of Thrones spoilers for the last two months!

The X-Men: Apocolypse actress gave an interview in January, revealing that she is awful at keeping secrets – being so bad that she has actually spilled the sacred ending of the hit HBO show’s final season. This sent social media into a frenzy as everyone began hounding her for an inside scoop.

Being as tactful and direct as her character Sansa Stark, Turner cleared the air of her comments in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

Turner explained: “I was on Twitter and saw these headlines like ‘Twitter followers are being so mean to Sophie Turner after reports she told her friends the ending of Game of Thrones‘. The truth is I’ve only told two people. It’s not that many. To be honest, I don’t read many of the mentions on Twitter because there’s normally quite a bit of hate. Everything I say will always have some negative reactions so I’m not surprised.”

So, although Turner didn’t make it clear in her original comments, she only told two people! People she closely trusts! Nothing that bad really. Not as bad as revealing spoilers to get out of a speeding charge (we’re looking at you Kit Harington. We’ve all seen the interview).

Turner is busy lately with promoting the final season of Game of Thrones. She will no doubt also be gearing up for the final X-Men movie to be released by Fox – Dark Phoenix. The film is set to see Turner’s Jean Grey struggle with split personality issues as she transforms into the powerful, dangerous Phoenix.

Game of Thrones returns to Sky Atlantic in the UK on April 14, and HBO in the US the same day. Dark Phoenix is set for release June 6 in the UK and June 7 in the US.
