“There is a story…”

I was pretty sure Star Wars Celebration was all just about…well, Star Wars. But no. Lucasfilm have took the opportunity to show off some little snippets of other projects they have going on. Not only did we get a first look glimpse of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5, but we also got our first look at the Willow series.

The trailer can of course be watched below:

The series will act as a sequel to the original film of the same name. This time around, we’ve got Warwick Davis returning once again as the title character. Joining him is the likes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘s Erin Kellyman, The Serpent‘s Ellie Bamber, Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s Tony Revolori, Daredevil‘s Joanne Whalley, Game of Thrones‘ Rosabell Laurenti Sellers and The Northman’s Ralph Ineson.

The plot of the series is said to be set many years after the film, centring around a princess who assembles a group to join her in a quest to rescue her twin brother.

The original 1988 film had Davis’ title character alongside Val Kilmer’s Madmartigan as the former is tasked with protecting a special baby from an evil queen. The film was not the biggest hitter at the box office but it grew to become a cult classic. Unfortunately, there is no word on Kilmer making any form of appearance in the sequel series.
